A Video, A Winner & Nora's Mish-Mash

First of all, thanks to everyone who entered the Nintendo Points Card Giveaway! There were a total of 33 valid entries and thanks to random.org, number 16 was the winner which happens to be the lovely Erin. While we are on the Nintendo subject, a big shoutout and thanks to Rebekah for putting together this little video from the party in which you will see me and KH furiously boxing, Liz bowling, the famed Heracles Chariot Racing, as well as the other party goers and witness some of Rebekah’s awesome video-editing skills.

And now, for Nora’s Mish Mash:

* I do not have a green thumb. I was recently gifted some beautiful parade roses and I think I killed them. Or at least it looks I tried to kill them. Fortunately Darling is better at gardening than I, so she’s helping me nurse them back to health. I hope it works because they are beautiful!

* From Barnes & Noble to the Library. It’s no secret I’m a book addict but now it’s even worse since I can check books out of the library for FREE at any time, renew them online at any time and etc. I wrote about my library obsession last week so I won’t bore you with it again, but you would think I’d take out one, maybe two books out at a time but it’s not the case. I went Saturday afternoon and walked out with four books, once of which is a 1,000 page book. No way I’ll be able to finish it in the two week allotted period.

* Billionaire & Sookie Stackhouse love. I’m probably late to both of these things, but I’m kind of decided that Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire” is going to be my summer song (sorry, Katie Perry, I hear you’re up for best summer song with California Gurls but I don’t dig it).

And Snopp Dogg’s tribute to Sookie Stackhouse? I was dying from laughter and even made my parents watch/listen to it:

* Fireworks! I have a three-day weekend, possibly four-day weekend coming up and I literally can’t wait. Ignoring the fact that part of the weekend will be spent working on a finance midterm, my brother is coming into town which means the nose piercing just might finally happen (he’s my courage for these kinds of things), I’ll be poolside, reading, getting ready for my trip to DC and just mellowing out as much as possible.

So, tell me, am I the only one who kills plants and is in love with poptrashy music?

Nora Confessions, Part III

* I’ve only seen one episode of Glee. The one I saw I loved but for some reason I forget what night it is on and I’ve failed to Hulu it after the fact.

* This is the first year I’ve been kind of excited for Halloween, though I’m not sure why as I don’t have any apparent plans. Maybe it was because Target has such an awesome section of decorations and other Halloween-related things that we don’t need but are fun.

* I’ve only tried coffee twice in my life. I’ve spit it out both times.

* Sometimes I growl after I get off the phone with someone who has upset me.

* I’m great at buying and preparing packages for friends. Not so great at sending them. I owe several of you packages so hopefully writing this down will send me to the post office sooner rather than later.

* I’m afraid to look at my Google Reader.

* I’m not sure I can run a half-marathon because I don’t think my body (namely my hips/lower back) will cooperate. This makes me sad.

* I would love to be 20SB featured blogger of the month some day.

* I wait to get my oil changed until the very last possible minute. Something about going to the car dealership/repair shop stresses me out.

* I stole a campaign sign out of someone’s yard in 2004.

* I can still recite 95% of the lyrics on all the Backstreet Boys albums. In case that made you throw up, I also know all the Beatles lyrics from the White Album and the anthologies that came out in the late 1990s.

* I wish it could be acceptable for me to wear my rainboots everyday. They’re cute and comfortable.

1. A quiet client day at the office allowing me to get my to-do list and thoughts together.

2. A new “Health,” magazine came in the mail. More inspiration, recipes and workouts to try.

3. Mustering the strength to go to the gym and knocking out a 20 minute run and 40 minutes of weights, planks and more.

4. Raisin Bran. It makes a great dinner (believe it or not).

5. Cuddling with Jack on the couch, reading blogs, watching Barefoot in the Park and How to Marry a Millionaire.

6. Celebrating eight months with Irish, even though we aren’t hanging out today.

7. Receiving an award from Habbala!

Huge thanks to Scarlett Off Course for delighting me and bestowing upon me a new blog award! I just started reading Scarlett in the last few weeks and almost every post she rights I sit and think “me too! me too! ME TOO!” It’s great. She’s hilarious, open and honest, so definitely check her out if you haven’t yet.
